CATS 2417 - Release Notes
October 2025
The fall release focuses on new options for sampling and cupping, new tools for managing tariffs, as well as improvements to report scheduling.
[NEW]Sampling Session This new module allows samplers to record a quick reaction to the sample (e.g. cupping) and connect that to the sample entries already entered in CATS. Users can then review the session results to approve or reject the samples via Batch Approval.
[NEW]Customs Entry Form The Final Entry form has been repurposed as
“Customs Entry.” With tariffs becoming increasingly important in the
import business, this document is meant to serve as a duty notice to the
customs broker and can be combined with the TariffDeclaration text
block to include actual CIF costs on the document.
Boilerplate and Custom Text Blocks Traffic forms and contract confirms support pre-formatted and configurable text blocks which can be added to templates or inserted into note fields. Text blocks can be configured to expand within the document (so you can edit them directly) or to appear inline and only expand on the printed document.
[IMPROVEMENT]Improved Scheduling for Reports The report scheduler now runs in multi-threaded mode which means up to 5 reports can run at once. Additionally, scheduled reports can be set with a priority and CATS will run high priority reports before lower ones.
[IMPROVEMENT]Print Marks on Traffic Forms in Display Order Users can now use the MrkOrd menu option to set the marks printing order to match the way the marks are currently displlaeyd.
[IMPROVEMENT]Vendor Order Rates Based on Tariff Rates Vendor orders now support the “Tariff” rate keyword which uses the tariff entry table to calculate the vendor order charge amount.
[IMPROVEMENT]Filter Futures Report by Account Users can filter the futures reports by account code.
[IMPROVEMENT]Tariff Trigger on Trans-Shipment Date Tariff entries can specify whether they trigger based on the shipment date or the trans-shipment date.
